An Important Change at School
A school is an important place to student. It is where they spend the majority of their time during their school years. Therefore, it is important that the school provide a good environment for the students to develop both mentally and physically. For this reasons, if I could make one change to the school I attend, I would add a large, modern gymnasium.
One reason I support the building of a modern gym is that physical education class is very important to the well-being of students. It provides us not only with exercise, but with a break from the mental rigors of our studies. However, without a large enough gym, we must often cancel our P.E. class when the weather is bad and more classes must share the indoor space. A new gym would solve this problem. Another reason I would like to have a new gym is that more modern athletic facilities would allow us to practice a wider variety of sports. This would appeal to those students who are not physically active because they find the current sports that we play boring or difficult. In developing the lifelong habit of exercise, it is important for everyone to find something he enjoys.
Finally, a big, new gymnasium could be used for other events as well, such as class assemblies and performances.
For the reasons given above, I believe that a large, modern gymnasium would be a valuable addition to my school. It would encourage more students to exercise and allow them to do so on a more regular basis. In addition, it could be used by many school organizations and clubs for a variety of purposes. Therefore, I believe it is a practical suggestion.
